C0G High Temperature 260°C SMD
KEMET’s C0G High Temperature 260°C SMD Multilayer Ceramic Capacitors (MLCCs) are constructed from a robust and proprietary C0G/NP0 base metal electrode (BME) dielectric system that offers industry-leading performance at extreme temperatures.
These devices are specifically designed for applications in harsh environmental conditions such as downhole oil exploration, industrial high temperature electronics, geothermal, and aerospace which require capacitors that are robust and reliable at extreme temperatures such as 260°C. KEMET’s C0G dielectric exhibits no change in capacitance with respect to time and voltage and boasts a negligible change in capacitance with reference to ambient temperature.
KEMET’s C0G High Temperature 260°C SMD also incorporates a gold (Au) termination finish providing a clean solderable surface that can withstand the most extreme environments. These devices are Lead (Pb)-Free, RoHS, and REACH compliant without the need for any exemptions.

KEMET’s New Surface Mount Safety Certified Ceramic Capacitors Provide Solutions for Space Constrained Mains Powered Applications
New devices offer smaller form factors to save space and simplify manufacturing versus competing leaded devices in AC line filtering applications.
KEMET has launched a new range of surface mount device (SMD) safety certified multilayer ceramic capacitors (MLCCs) for use in mains powered applications. The CAS series addresses widespread demand for miniaturization without compromising performance by offering higher capacitance, smaller overall size, and simplified assembly versus existing leaded disc devices, which represent the majority of safety-certified ceramic capacitors currently on the market.
According to market research*, the overall power supply sector is expected to grow to US $34.92 billion by 2023, at a CAGR of 6.7% from 2018 to 2023. Within this, AC/DC power conversion is considered the largest and fastest growing type of power supply owing to its increasingly wide range of uses and applications. KEMET’s CAS series of SMD MLCCs offers important design and production benefits versus leaded disc devices for AC line filtering in this significant and expanding market.
To satisfy industry and consumer demand for portable solutions, PCB real estate for electronics and power delivery systems continues to shrink as designers put more functionality in smaller spaces. Commonly used safety certified leaded disc components are bulky compared with KEMET’s CAS series SMD MLCCs and are often not suitable for applications with restricted spaces in which filtering circuitry needs to be placed. Leaded disc devices also require pin-through installation into PCBs, a process that is not compatible with standard automated reflow profiles and therefore can result in additional production costs.
Filtering is important in mains powered products to manage unwanted transients, such as high frequency noise in both line-to-line (Class X) and line-to-ground (Class Y) applications. Safety certified capacitors are used in a wide variety of applications, such as power adapters for mobile devices, industrial power distribution, and electric vehicle power inverters.
“Until now, safety certified capacitor technology has not kept pace with advances in MLCC technology,” said Reggie Phillips, KEMET Senior Product Manager. “Our new CAS range allows engineers to place the essential mains-connected filtering capacitors into smaller spaces, thereby reducing board size. For manufacturing professionals, the benefit is that the new devices are compatible with standard reflow processes, eliminating an additional step in the manufacturing process.”
KONNEKT U2J for High-Efficiency, High-Density Power Applications (Commercial Grade)
Overview
KEMET's U2J KONNEKT surface mount capacitors are designed for high-efficiency and high-density power applications. KONNEKT utilizes an innovative Transient Liquid Phase Sintering (TLPS) material to create a leadless multi-chip solution. When combined with KEMET’s ultrastable U2J dielectric, KONNEKT enables a low-loss, lowinductance package capable of handling extremely high ripple currents in the hundreds of kilohertz. U2J is an extremely stable Class I dielectric material that exhibits a negligible shift in capacitance with respect to voltage and a predictable and linear change in capacitance with reference to ambient temperature, with minimal aging effect. Capacitance change is limited to –750 ±120 ppm/°C from –55°C to +125°C. U2J KONNEKT can also be mounted in a low-loss orientation to further increasing its power handling capability. The low-loss orientation lowers ESR (Effective Series Resistance) and ESL (Effective Series Inductance) which increases ripple current handling capability.

High Reliability Surface Mount Capacitors, MIL-PRF-32535, 4 – 200 VDC (C0G and BP Dielectrics)
Overview
The KEMET MIL-PRF-32535 C0G and BP surface mount capacitors are designed, tested and screened to meet demanding high reliability defense and aerospace applications. MIL-PRF-32535 is Defense Logistics Agency's (DLA) first capacitor specification for defense and aerospace that capitalizes on industry leading base metal electrode (BME) technology. Qualified under performance specification MIL-PRF-32535 and QPL listed, this series meets or exceeds the requirements outlined by DLA and is currently available in M (standard reliability) and T (high reliability) product levels. Driven by the demand for higher capacitance and smaller case size MLCCs in high reliability applications, KEMET’s MIL-PRF-32535 C0G and BP provides over an 18-fold increase in capacitance over MILPRF- 55681 and MIL-PRF-123, allowing for reduced board space and continuing the trend for miniaturization.
In addition to being the first BME C0G and BP dielectric qualified for use in defense and aerospace applications, MIL-PRF-32535 is the first DLA specification to recognize a flexible termination option. KEMET's flexible termination utilizes a pliable and conductive silver epoxy between the base metal and nickel barrier layers of the termination system. The addition of this epoxy layer inhibits the transfer of board stress to the rigid ceramic body, therefore mitigating flex cracks, which can result in a low IR or short circuit failures.

KEMET's KC-LINK surface mount capacitors are designed to meet the growing demand for fast switching wide bandgap (WBG) semiconductors that operate at higher voltages, temperatures, and frequencies. By utilizing KEMET's robust and proprietary C0G/NPO base metal electrode (BME) dielectric system, these capacitors are well suited for power converters, inverters, snubbers, and resonators, where high efficiency is a primary concern. With extremely low effective series resistance (ESR) and very low thermal resistance, KC-LINK capacitors can operate at very high ripple currents with no change in capacitance versus DC voltage, and negligible change in capacitance versus temperature. With an operating temperature of 150°C, these capacitors can be mounted close to fast switching semiconductors in high power density applications, which require minimal cooling.

KEMET Expands Its X7R Dielectric Product Portfolio
KEMET and the Solid Capacitors Business Group (SCBG) are pleased to announce the addition of several new HiCV values to the Surface Mount Multilayer Ceramic Capacitor (SMD MLCC) portfolio in X7R dielectric Auto Grade. These new devices meet the same high performance quality standards of KEMET's ceramic capacitors, offering long component life, increased reliability and non-directional polarization for simplified component mounting. X7R dielectric devices are ideal for bypass and decoupling applications or for frequency discriminating circuits where Q and stability of capacitance characteristics are not critical.
KEMET’s X7R dielectric features an 125°C maximum operating temperature and is considered “temperature stable”. They exhibit a predictable change in capacitance with respect to time and voltage and boasts a minimal change in capacitance with reference to ambient temperature. Capacitance change is limited to ±15% from -55°C to +125°C.
