With customer requirements becoming increasingly demanding and differentiated, Charcroft have seen a surge of interest in bespoke manufacturing projects. Whether it be small volume builds, prototyping and development, or simply the weird and wonderful – there has been a definite increase in demand for the more ‘off-the menu’ requests. The beauty of being a privately owned business is the adaptability – we have seen this shift and are able to respond and adapt to meet it.

Although we are primarily known for being a specialist distributor, we have recently invested in extending our in-house value-add engineering capabilities to meet this growing demand. In addition to the existing manufacturing capabilities, we have created a whole new department of engineers tasked with the specific role of addressing bespoke manufacturing projects. Alongside this, we have invested in a new facility also within the town of Llanwrtyd Wells. This extra space enables the specialist manufacturing team to work on prototypes and development and also serves to extend the storage space available for stock.

With design-support available from our team of engineers and technical specialists, Charcroft can offer life extension to parts by aiding with managing process obsolescence. By supporting and liaising with the customer to meet their requirements, Charcroft have been able to assist with several special projects. Previously offering custom passive assemblies, flying leads options, printing and labelling, this has now been extended to include a broad repertoire of additional capabilities such as specialist technical solutions, design support, low production volumes and prototype builds.

Despite times within the electronics sector being particularly turbulent and uncertain, Charcroft continue to invest in the future. We pride ourselves on being a consistent presence and we continue to support our customers in all ways possible.

Charcroft will be joined at the UK Space Conference by AEM, Inc. - a high reliability component solutions provider, and Kemet - a leading global supplier of electronic components, on stand C3, where we will be presenting our full range of Space approved products.
