January 15, 2016, - TT Electronics today announced the global market introduction of its MagnePot® 8150 Series.
The MagnePot® 8150 Series is a family of high-performance multi-turn non-contacting rotary position sensors. They are designed to reliably operate over a minimum of 10 million shaft rotations with no signal output degradation. The Series combines the very latest in Hall Effect non-contacting sensing technology and high-performance internal bearing design. This combination results in a rotary position sensor with exceptional performance reliability. The non-contacting sensing technology also facilitates clean, ratiometric absolute position outputs across multiple turns without sliding contact noise.
Units are available in a choice of three, five or ten turns. Each is powered via a 5Vdc supply voltage. Ratiometric output range is from 4% to 96% of supply with a 12mA maximum current rating. MagnePott® 8150 Series models also feature ±0.50% independent linearity as standard, with optional improvement to ±0.25%. Standard operating temperature range is -40°C to +125°C. Additional options include alternative output voltages, servo mounts, non-linear outputs, IP50 or IP66 ingress protection, and severe environment versions. Severe service models further incorporate sealed shafts and rear lids. All such modifications and options may be easily accommodated with competitive lead times.
Typical applications for the MagnePott® 8150 Series include industrial joystick controls; factory and laboratory automation; advanced manufacturing; robotic positioning; motion control feedback; medical diagnostic equipment positioning; aircraft flight and panel controls; and vision system positioning feedback.
24 September 2013: TT electronics has launched the next generation of its moulded inductor devices. The HM72E and HA72E are engineered for high performance and cost effectiveness and will utilise proprietary blends of alloy core materials that are optimised for high temperature stability, high dc bias capability, low core losses as well as minimising oxidation.
Designers of industrial and automotive DC/DC converters and other power applications where high power density is a requirement will benefit from the rust resistant over-moulded construction and the wide operating temperature rating. The new moulded inductors are operational from -40oC to +155oC making them ideal for powertrain applications where environmental conditions are demanding.
Both devices are targeted at designers who require a buck, boost or buck-boost inductor for voltage regulation at fast switching frequencies up to 3MHz but also need to save space. Additionally, the HA72E series is qualified to AEC-Q200 certification for automotive applications. Further features of the range include DC bias current of up to 45A and inductance levels ranging from 0.10uH to 33uH at a maximum dimension of 6.8 x 7.3 x 3mm (LxWxH).
