PULS manufactures DIN-rail switched-mode power supplies, with a focus on standard units. As a reliable partner and manufacturer of switched mode power supplies at the forefront of technology, PULS GmbH supports its demanding customers in the world's industry by supplying the highest quality. The company's innovative ideas in electronic development, together with the highly functional mechanical design, put PULS into a leading technological position.
The new 480W DIN rail power supply CP20.241-R2-C1 (24V / 20A) comes with an integrated redundancy function, which makes an external redundancy module unnecessary. Supporting an automated current sharing feature ensures an optimized temperature balance and a longer lifetime in parallel operation.
Furthermore the power supply comes with conformal-coated PCBs for use in harsh environments and has the addition of hot-swappable plug-connectors for ease of replacement during operation.
All these features will help you ensure the maximum availability of your system and ultimately save space, save time and save money.
PULS CP Series 480W | PDFIn the 120W power class, the new CP5.121 (12V, 10A) and CP5.241 (24V, 5A) have been setting new benchmarks for several months now. System developers are impressed by the small size of the devices (only 32mm width), the very long lifetime (up to 166.000h at full load and +40°C) and the high efficiency rating (>94%).
We are supplementing the portfolio with further versions:
Due to its diversity, the CP series offers the perfect power supply for every application.
PULS CP5 | PDFThe new PIANO Mini (PIM) power supplies will help create space within your system allowing for a more flexible cabinet design. A 90W DIN rail power supply in just 36 x 90 x 91mm (WxHxD) housing is unique within the market and the 36W version at just 22.5mm is literally a thumb's width across. The result? Completely new space saving opportunities!
The latest and smallest representatives of the PIANO family are the 24V PIM36, PIM60 (60W) and PIM90 (90W). With the new PIANO products, PULS now provides users with a complete, cost-orientated product family in the 36-480W power range.
The most important characteristic of the PIANO device is their simplicity, without having to compromise on quality. Due to their compact size, the PIM36 (22.5mm wide), PIM60 (36mm wide) and PIM90 (36mm wide) 24V power supplies provide more flexibility in your system. At the same time they offer significant cost savings due to their high efficiency, long life and ease of use.

These PIANO series units are extraordinarily compact, industrial grade power supplies that focus on the essential features needed in today’s industrial applications. The excellent cost/performance ratio presents many new and exciting opportunities without compromising quality or reliability.
The mechanically robust housing is made of a high-grade, reinforced molded material, which permits the units to be used in surrounding temperatures up to 70°C.
Since typical industrial applications do not require multiple main inputs, the reduction to a regional input voltage range (AC 220-240V) simplifies the circuitry and has significant advantages for reliability, efficiency and cost.
The addition of a DC-OK signal makes the unit suitable for many industry applications such as: process automation and many other critical applications where preventive function monitoring can help to avoid long downtimes.

PULS, the specialist for high reliability DIN-Rail power supplies, has now extended its product range to service new market segments. Applying new techniques and concepts from design to manufacturing, the new PIANO series offers reliability, service lifetime and efficiency figures usually only available in higher cost products.
The PIANO series products are now available for applications that demand high performance and reliability at a competitive cost. By taking a fresh and innovative approach, the intrinsic properties of PULS power supplies (high reliability and long service lifetime) have now been implanted into a product range that provides significant price advantages. PIANO prices are subsequently reduced by up to 40% below previous model prices.
John Tyrrell, Managing Director of PULS UK commented, “Despite the low cost design goals, an MTBF of more than 1.4 million hours and efficiencies of 90.5% to 94.5% have been achieved with a minimum service lifetime of typically 40,000 hours. These innovations have been made possible by a smart single-board design with cost-saving polycarbonate housing by our specialist PULS design team focused on an intelligent design for cost-effective manufacturability. The result is a compact, highly reliable and competitive supply; the 240W version requires a width of just 49mm on the DIN-Rail.”
These new supplies are purely convection-cooled and can operate from -10°C (some units even from -25°C) up to +70°C. Power derating is typically only required above +55°C. The PIANO series is easy to use because it clicks smoothly onto any standard DIN-Rail and includes large-sized terminals making installation simple and fast. Furthermore, the PIANO series features a ‘DC-OK’ signal that can be used to monitor the unit’s output voltage.
Additional cost saving is made possible for applications where global use is not needed and a nominal input voltage of 200-240V is sufficient. By eliminating the cost penalty associated with a universal input range, products optimized for the higher input range provide an even better cost vs. performance position.
Currently available are 24V/5A and 24V/10A models for input voltages from 200-240V. Additional products suitable for all global input voltages from 100V-240V will be available in Q2/2015. The new PIANO series allows users to save on costs without compromising on the benefits of a reliable, efficient and easy-to-use power supply.

The C-Series power supplies are affordable basic units comprising an alternative to the feature-rich Q-Series. Corners were cut when it comes to a few features, but not in terms of quality, reliability, ease of operation, small overall size and generous power reserves. In this sense, the same standards apply to the C-Series as to all other PULS products. In the 120W class, the C-Series units are even smaller than those of the Q Series and yet are every bit as durable, with a specified life expectancy of the electrolytic capacitor of 50,000 hours.
The guaranteed power boost of +20% of the rated power is intended to ensure optimal adaptation to fluctuating loads. If the ambient temperature remains below 45°C or with forced ventilation, this performance is even specified for continuous loads. Nor were any compromises made when it comes to limiting the inrush current. This unpleasant side effect of switching power supplies was completely eliminated by means of a new circuit.
The units are equipped with automatic 115/230V range switching for increased ease of operation and fault avoidance. For the first time, the units are now available in special regional versions that cover either only the 100-120V or 200-240V ranges. This made it possible to further reduce costs without other disadvantages in regional applications.
