SAMPLING NOW: Longer life in DC link applications to 1800V DC Retro-fit snap-on AC current sensor supports power- and smart-metering Solid core & flexible current sensors
The PCS series of metallised film capacitors, from ICW, provides an extended operational lifetime as DC link capacitors in high duty cycle inverter applications such as solar power and induction heating, static frequency converters, light rail traction or HVAC.
With voltage ratings from 1100Vdc to 1800Vdc, the PCS series typically achieves link voltages without the need for multiple capacitors in series or in parallel and provides greatly enhanced ripple current rating when compared to traditional electrolytic capacitors. The PCS series is housed in an aluminum can and has capacitance values ranging from 15 to 445μF.
The alternative SEG and SMS series have plastic housings, with and without a flange. All versions are competitively priced and available on a 4-week leadtime.
The SCT-0400 AC current sensor features a snap-on connection which allows it to be retro-fitted to existing systems without disconnecting the existing power cables. Operational from 50Hz to 400Hz, the SCT-0400 has a low output of 0.333V AC, at rated current, to simplify interfacing to power-monitoring systems.
Measurement accuracy is +1%, at 10% to 130% of the rated current, with a phase angle of less than 2˚ and current ratings from 5A to 75A. A version without a burden resistor is clamped to an output of 22V, with a rated current of 0-50A. The compact housing measures just 39.55mm x 25.4mm x 26.67mm, with a 10.16mm split core opening, and 2.44 meters of twisted pair, jacketed 24 AWG cabling.
Other Manutech split-core current sensors cover current ratings from 5A to 3000A with core openings from 19.05mm to 76.2mm. All products carry both UL & CE approvals.
With a choice of five core sizes options, Manutech solid-core AC current sensors from Charcroft, provide better than +1% accuracy and less than 1˚ phase angle. The UCT series provide core sizes from 7.6mm to 31.25mm and current ratings ranging from 5A to 400A. Output options include the industry-standard 0.333V AC or custom ratings.
The RopeCT® series of flexible Rogowski coil sensors can measure a wide range of currents without saturation and detect small AC changes. Coil sensors can be installed without disconnecting the power cable and without adding to the power load on the line. Standard current ratings range from 500A to 5000A. They achieve +1% accuracy, from 10% to 300% of rated current and less than 0.5˚ phase angle.
