Absolute encoder meets robotics & industrial demands
Industrial and robotics applications can now achieve versatile control with an extended lifetime of over 1 billion revolutions with the new microprocessor-based absolute encoder from TT electronics BI Technologies. With an HS35-style package and proprietary Digital Angular Position Sensor (DAPS) technology, the ENAB-35 encoder achieves extreme accuracy for position and speed, and allows customers to programme the zero-degree position at the time of installation.

Output options include multiple index points, custom coding, and software turns counters, with 12-bit resolution over 360 degrees. Beta samples are available now, with custom package sizes and configurations available on a twelve-week leadtime.

Edge-mounted test points save board space
Based on field-proven SMOX technology, new low-profile, edge-mounted test points from Oxley save PCB space and minimise damage during test, analysis and programming.

A unique ball-and-socket connector mechanism allows flying leads to be connected and disconnected with no stress to the PCB. The unique design provides clear advantages over conventional pin-header connectors, including low resistance, and a convenient and compliant socket. Compatibility with the latest pick-and-place technology allows fast and accurate placement with speeds of over 40,000 units per hour.

Industry-first 35V polymer tantalum capacitors
The latest polymer tantalum chip capacitors from Kemet achieve an industry-first 35V rating, making them suitable for use in military, aerospace, power supply and industrial equipment.

The new 35V T521 series brings the advantages of low ESR, low profile, high volumetric efficiency, high reliability and a benign failure mode to applications with power input rails of 20V to 24V and up to 25V continuous duty. The surge voltage capability is in excess of 46V. The first chips to be released are in the low-profile V case with a 15μF capacitance rating and maximum ESR rating of 125 milliohms. Further devices will extend the capacitance value to 22μF or 33μF, in a higher profile case, or offer a smaller footprint with capacitance values up to 6.8μF.
